Our history

Image communications was founded by Lesley-Ann van Niftrik in February 1989, at a time when this country was experiencing enormous political turmoil and the economy was at an all-time low.  In those days, public relations were regarded as a nice to have – a poor cousin of marketing.

Since then, things have changed dramatically, and so has the thrust of PR.  Through the years more and more companies -- large and small -- have come to appreciate what PR has to offer strategically.   

The complexities of adapting to change, staying ahead of the competition and implementing effective strategic communications are only some of the challenges that face most businesses today. Highly effective everyday business and communications campaigns go a long way to establishing a credible corporation reputation that ultimately impacts directly on the bottom line.
